When accessing
the streaming video page for the first time using Microsoft Internet
Explorer, an ActiveX component is automatically downloaded to
your system. If ActiveX is disabled or your security is
too high, this download will not occur and no streaming video
will be seen.
To
correct this, you must temporarily lower your security
settings to perform a one-time-only installation of the ActiveX component onto your workstation.
If you are using Netscape Navigator
there is nothing that must be downloaded prior to
viewing. Netscape 4.0 and above supports streaming media
without the use of plug-ins.
How
to verify security settings and manually install:
(MS
Internet Explorer)
1) From the Tools menu, select Internet Options.
2)
Click the Security tab and make note of your current security
settings.
3)
Click
the Custom Level button.
4)
Set
the security level to Low and click OK.
(Medium will also
work depending upon your settings)
6)
A
dialog asking if you want to install AxisCamImage.ocx will appear.
7)
Click
yes to start the installation.
NOTE:
If you did not see a dialog box then you may have security
settings too high. Instead of disabling ActiveX components,
change the security settings to Prompt you instead. This will allow you to install the
CameraControl function. 8)
Once
the ActiveX installation is complete, return the security
settings to their original value, as noted above.
If
successful, click here for the full view
screen.
If
you are still having trouble:
-
If
you are behind a firewall, verify that it allows motion jpeg
applications to pass through.
-
Download
this self installing file. Save it to your Desktop. Double
click the CameraControl.exe icon to start the
installation.
-
If
you are having trouble viewing images it is possible that the
ActiveX component needs to be reinstalled. It is
suggested that you remove the existing ActiveX Component and
re-install it.
How
to remove the ActiveX component once it has been installed:
1)
From
the Tools menu, select Internet Options.
2)
On
the General setup box, Click the Settings button
under Temporary Internet Files...
3)
Then
click View Objects.
5)
Find
the object named CamImageClass, highlight the file by
clicking it once.
6)
From
the File menu, select Remove Program File.
7)
Once
removed, choose File, Close.
8)
Click
OK twice.
